Jordan Henderson is in a groove.
Henderson scored a goal and assisted on another Wednesday in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Burnley in the Premier League. Henderson now has scored with highlight-reel strikes in consecutive games and grown into a genuine goal threat for Liverpool.
Henderson gave Liverpool the lead in the 29th minute when he fired Philippe Coutinho’s blocked shot past goalkeeper Tom Heaton on the half-volley.
Henderson turned provider in the 51st minute when he set up Daniel Sturridge’s goal with a deft pass into Burnley’s penalty area. Burnley gave Henderson too much time and space to pick out his pass, which was inch-perfect.
Henderson has scored four goals and assisted on eight more in 27 Premier League games this season. The Liverpool vice-captain could surpass his personal-best goal output (five in 2012-13) if he continues on his current form.
