The New York Mets and Kansas City Royals looked like they were willing to play all night. But thankfully for all of those who have work in a few hours, Game 1 of the World Series ended in 14 innings.
The Royals, who forced extra innings with an Alex Gordon home run in the bottom of the ninth, took Game 1 with a 5-4 win after Eric Hosmer knocked in the winning run on a sacrifice fly.
