Amendola’s return — especially with Rob Gronkowski (knee) and Julian Edelman (foot) already ruled out — would be huge for the Patriots. Amendola ranks third on the team with 49 catches for 520 yards and two touchdowns, and had become Brady’s go-to receiver in the slot.
Amendola’s official status likely won’t be announced until 3 p.m. ET, when the Patriots release inactives for the game.
