Unranked Duke University pulled off a terrific upset of ACC rival No. 7 Virginia thanks to sophomore Grayson Allen’s buzzer-beating floater.

The shot gave Duke a surprising 63-62 win over the Cavaliers, who extended their 21-year losing streak at Cameron Indoor Stadium dating back to Jan. 14, 1995.
The icing on the cake, of course, is that Saturday was Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski’s 69th birthday. Duke students took advantage of the occasion with some sweet party hats.

But while Duke will escape with the victory Saturday that certainly helps their NCAA tournament hopes (and, likely, confidence), it seems as though luck was on its side. Though Allen got the shot off in time, the referees missed an up-and-down call that would have negated the shot and won the game for Virginia.
Great win for Duke. That said, I hate to be THAT guy, but shot shouldn't have counted. Clearly an up-and-down. pic.twitter.com/RPmCXsBDDz

Alas, a win is a win. Coach K’s cake will taste a bit sweeter tonight.
