Roy Williams was at the center of a scary scene Tuesday night at Boston College.
The University of North Carolina basketball coach collapsed on the sideline in the second half of the Tar Heels’ eventual three-point, come-from-behind win over BC.

Williams eventually was helped to his feet and walked to the Carolina locker room. Fortunately, it wasn’t as bad as it looked. The head coach met with reporters after the game and said he was OK, saying the collapse stemmed from vertigo.
“I’m alive. I’m kicking,” the 65-year-old told reporters after the game, per ESPN.com. “I’ve had some vertigo attacks over the last 17 or 18 years. This is the first time I really had one during a game. I said something to the referee. I didn’t respond correctly to his response. I kind of whirled around, and that’s when it hit.”
The team offered this update later on, via its Twitter page.
Tar Heels just landed at RDU and Coach Williams is doing well. Thanks to all those former players and rival coaches who reached out tonight.

Assistant coach Steve Robinson took over for Williams and coached the rest of the game for the No. 9 Tar Heels.
