FOXBORO, Mass. — The idea of Jimmy Garoppolo starting over Tom Brady when the four-time Super Bowl champion returns from his Deflategate suspension in Week 5 is insane.
Nevertheless, New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was asked before Friday’s training camp practice at Gillette Stadium if there’s a chance Garoppolo could remain the starter if he plays well.
Belichick clearly was frustrated with the question, probably because A) Brady is arguably the best quarterback in the NFL, and B) he already answered this question Thursday.
The reporter asked Friday, “What if Jimmy plays better?”
Belichick responded, “Look, I told you what’s going to happen.”

Basically, don’t expect to see Jimmy G under center when the Patriots visit Cleveland in Week 5, even though the Browns probably wouldn’t mind that.
