The Celtics want Kevin Durant, and nearly every sports team in Boston is pulling out all the stops to get him there.
The free-agent forward and seven-time All-Star met with the Celtics on Saturday and was joined by New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who reportedly flew Durant to the Hamptons for the meeting. Brady was the only Boston representative from outside the NBA, but Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz made sure he sent his regrets.
Yo @KDTrey5 sorry I couldn't make the meeting today but Brady will tell u they don't call Boston the City of Champions for nothing 🏆🏆🏆

Ortiz, of course, was a little busy playing baseball against the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday, but we’re sure he would have made it if his schedule permitted it. The slugger also happens to be friends with new Celtics big man and fellow Dominican Republic native Al Horford, who agreed to a deal with the C’s on Saturday.
