Jay Bruce’s name continues to come up as one of the more talked about players in MLB trade rumors with Monday’s non-waiver trade deadline looming.
The Cincinnati Reds right fielder is a pretty good offensive player. He’s batting .274 with 24 home runs and a National League-leading 78 RBI through 94 games. His 0.7 WAR is a pretty low, though.
Still, it’s no surprise he’s drawing interest.
The #Reds have picked up the pace on Jay Bruce trade discussions. They're talking to at least 4 clubs. Seeking a top prospect in return.

Bruce has a club option for $13 million next season and will hit free agency if the option isn’t exercised.
The Reds currently sit at the bottom of the National League Central division standings at 39-61, 20 1/2 games behind the first-place Chicago Cubs, so it’s no surprise they’re potential sellers as the trade deadline approaches.
