The Boston Celtics are going big this offseason.
It’s no secret the Celtics are pursuing Atlanta Hawks center Al Horford in NBA free agency, which officially began at midnight Eastern. But it seems their hopes have taken the next step: They’ll have a meeting with Horford on Friday, according to The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski, who broke the news on his live free agency special on Yahoo! Sports.

The Celtics fully intend to offer Horford the four-year max contract, according to The Boston Herald’s Steve Bulpett. They also reportedly have a meeting with Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard, per ESPN, and were interested in Cleveland Cavaliers center Timofey Mozgov before he agreed to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers shortly after free agency began.
