Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan isn’t afraid of putting himself out there and taking a chance.
Usually, it happensĀ on the football field. But on Monday, it came in front of the Buffalo media during a news conference, when he tried out his new Bill Belichick impression.
Sometimes, risks don’t pay off. Ryan probably expected uproarious laughter. He got crickets. It happens to the best of them, but don’t stop trying, Rex.

In spite of Monday’s awkwardness, Ryan still made it a point to heap praise on his AFC East adversary.
“I think my admiration is really for Belichick more than anything,” Ryan told reporters. “As a coach, that’s the guy. He’ll go down as probably the best in the history of the game. I like poking fun at him and all that stuff, but there’s no coach I respect more than him.”
Belichick’s 3-0 Patriots take on Ryan’s 1-2 Bills at Gillette Stadium on Sunday. Ryan is 4-11 as a head coach against the Patriots, but he’s definitely better at impressions than Belichick.
Here’s whereĀ all theĀ Twitter comedians likely will reply that Ryan should try to impersonate Belichick as a coach. But that’sĀ too easy of a joke.
