ORIGINAL STORY: The Cincinnati Bengals lost their best offensive player on just the second play of the game Sunday.
Less than a minute into the Bengals’ home game against the Buffalo Bills, star wide receiver A.J. Green caught a pass from Andy Dalton and was hauled down by Bills cornerback Stephon Gilmore.

But Green injured his right hamstring on the play, writhing on the turf in pain before eventually being carted off the field. He later was ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Green’s injury is a huge blow to Cincinnati’s offense. The five-time Pro Bowler entered Sunday with 964 receiving yards through nine games, second in the NFL behind Julio Jones. His 66 receptions also ranked third in the league, and he had caught seven or more passes in three consecutive games.
If Green is forced to miss any time, that could give more of a role to Bengals wide receivers Brandon LaFell and Tyler Boyd, as well as tight end Tyler Eifert.
UPDATE (3:25 p.m. ET): Green will undergo an MRI on Monday, per ESPN’s Katherine Terrell and Adam Schefter.
