Making electric plays certainly is Baker Mayfield’s calling card.
But talking trash is a close second.
The Oklahoma Sooners quarterback already has planted a flag at midfield of Ohio Stadium and told a Baylor player he was going to spank him this season. Mayfield’s trash talking continued Saturday during the Sooners’ game against Kansas.
The Jayhawks first got on Mayfield’s bad side by refusing to shake his hand during the coin toss.

The Heisman Trophy frontrunner also took a cheap shot during the second quarter, so after a third quarter touchdown, he decided to let the Kansas sideline know how he felt about them. (Warning: video contains NSFW language.)

Mayfield grabbed his crotch while staring at the Jayhawks’ sideline, all while began mouthing expletives at them.
This could cost him some Heisman votes from the old school voters, but personally, we love what Mayfield brings to the table.
UPDATE (10 p.m. ET):Â Mayfield’s actions clearly rubbed some people the wrong way, and he apologized after Oklahoma’s 41-3 win.
“I got caught up in a competitive game, a chippy game, but what I did was unacceptable,” Mayfield said, via ESPN.com. “I apologize. It’s disrespectful. It’s not the example I want to set. It’s not the legacy I want to leave at OU. I truly do apologize. Thinking about the kids that are watching this now, it’s not something I want to do to the parents out there. I’m sorry.”
