The Green Bay Packers made two major moves surrounding their offense Tuesday.
The Packers reportedly have won the Jimmy Graham sweepstakes, signing the star tight end to a three-year deal, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
After a tough first season in Seattle, Graham turned things around in his final two campaigns with the Seahawks. The 31-year-old is coming off a very strong 2017 season in which he caught 57 passes for 10 touchdowns. Green Bay has struggled in signing big-name free-agent tight ends the past two seasons, but maybe the third time is the charm with Graham.
But while a new weapon for Aaron Rodgers is on his way to Green Bay, it appears a Packers veteran is walking out the door. Shortly after the news broke of Graham’s signing, Schefter reported that the Packers will be releasing wide receiver Jordy Nelson.
Dating back to 2011, Nelson has been one of the most productive wideouts when healthy. However, the 32-year-old’s numbers took a dive in the second half of the 2017 season.

Nelson reportedly notified teammates he would consider retiring if released by Green Bay, but Schefter’s latest report indicates the 10-year NFL veteran won’t be hanging up his cleats just yet.

A number of marquee wideouts already are off the open market, so Nelson could become a viable option for a team looking to add depth at the position.
