Rob Gronkowski is going to follow in Tom Brady’s footsteps this offseason, and no, we aren’t talking about his diet.
The New England Patriots tight end has been mulling retirement this offseason due to concerns over his health and reported issues with head coach Bill Belichick.
While Gronkowski has yet to decide if he will suit up for the 2018 season, he reportedly will not be attending the start of the Patriots’ offseason program, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Brady reportedly also will miss the start of the offseason program.
Like Patriots’ QB Tom Brady, TE Rob Gronkowski will not attend the start of New England’s off-season program Monday, per source.
Gronkowski still is considering whether to play the upcoming 2018 season, and has had “good communication” with the Patriots, per source.

Of course, the real takeaway from Schefter’s report is that Gronkowski and the Pats “have had good communication” as the tight end works through his decision.
Brady reportedly will miss the start of the offseason program due to a schedule conflict. The Patriots quarterback currently is in Qatar with Best Buddies International and is not set to return until Monday night.
It is not yet known how much of the program Gronkowski will miss.
