Tom Brady played a “large role” in the trade that sent Rob Gronkowski from the New England Patriots to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to ESPN’s Dianna Russini.
“Sources tell me he helped a bunch,” Russini tweeted Tuesday, after the trade was reported by multiple outlets.
The news sent Twitter into a frenzy.

The Patriots reportedly will receive a fourth-round pick in exchange for Gronkowski and a seventh-round pick.
The trade will reunite Gronkowski with Brady, who left New England and signed with Tampa Bay earlier this offseason.
