Rays Re-Sign Gabe Kapler to One-Year Deal

The Rays are bringing back outfielder Gabe Kapler on a one-year deal, the St. Petersburg Times reports.

Kapler ageed to a one-year deal worth $1.05 million with the Rays for the 2010 season. He hit .239 with eight home runs and 32 RBIs in 99 games for the Rays last season.

"I'm more than excited," Kapler told the Times. "I love the people in the clubhouse, I love the organization. … I believe next year is going to be better no matter what, just the way things broke last year. 2010 I'm confident will be a much better year from the team perspective and I really have a great deal of confidence I'll be able to help the team achieve great things."

Kapler had signed a one-year deal with the Rays last January for $1 million. He hit .276 against left-handed pitching in his first season in Tampa Bay.
