Right now the Knicks are sitting outside of the Eastern Conference playoff picture as the moves made during the Isiah Thomas era are still having a negative result on the team. Even though the Knicks have become a team fighting for the final playoff berth in the East, the franchise is selling tickets at a higher rate than in the past with the sense of hope on its way.

The Knicks are averaging 19,604 fans a game this season, a 3-percent increase over last season, and that number is expected to go up next season with the LeBron James sweepstakes set to take place.

"We are excited about the numbers," Scott O’Neil, the president of
Madison Square Garden Sports, told the New York Times. "There’s certainly a sense that the buzz
is back."

The Knicks sold out 15 of their first 22 home games with the Garden being filled to 99 percent capacity on average. They are one of eight teams in the league with 10,000 full-season subscribers, but the only team with a losing record.

The Knicks sold out 23 games last season and sold out 433 consecutive games from 1993 to 2003.
