New Orleans hosted a funeral last weekend, but it was one many residents were happy to attend.

According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, a jazz funeral was held Saturday to bury "Aints," the nickname held by the Saints football team prior to their Super Bowl XLIV victory. Trombonist Glen David Andrews and the Baby Boyz Brass Band reportedly led the procession through the Big Easy.

Late New Orleans sportscaster Buddy Diliberto created the nickname after the Saints' 1-15 season in 1980.

The jazz funeral paid tribute to Diliberto along with the "Aints" nickname, and officially put an end to 43 years of football misery in New Orleans.
