Shaun White Plans Double McTwist 1260 in Vancouver

Are you ready for a Double McTwist 1260?

The McTwist might sound like a new menu item from McDonald’s, but it’s actually U.S. men’s Olympic snowboarder Shaun White’s latest trick.

White has earned a reputation as a wild, daring snowboarder following his performance four years ago in Turin, where he won gold in the men’s halfpipe. He feels good about the Double McTwist 1260 and is excited to show the move to an international audience at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

"I feel confident with that trick," White told the AP. "It's such an amazing thing that I feel like somewhat disappointed if I didn't keep it in the run."

Thanks to his skills and fearlessness, the 23-year-old White has earned several nicknames, including “The Flying Tomato” and “The Animal.” The professional snowboarder has never claimed to be normal.

"I do things very differently, even where sometimes I feel like everybody is at the pipe and there's so much going on and it's really distracting and it's really tough to focus," White told The AP.

White’s personality has made him an international icon, but he has not let fame deter his focus from winning the gold. The Olympian strives for greatness.

"For me, every single season, I look at what I have done in the previous one and what I can do to beat it," White told MoreThanTheGames.com.

White has one Olympic gold medal in his career, but with tricks like the Double McTwist 1260, he has a great opportunity to earn many more.
