Patriots Sign Eight Rookie Free Agents

The Patriots signed eight rookie free agents on Thursday afternoon, including wide receiver Bryan Anderson, safeties Sergio Brown and Ross Ventrone, defensive end Dane Fletcher, cornerback Terrence Johnson, defensive lineman Kyle Love, running back Pat Paschall and offensive lineman John Wise.

Terms of the agreements were not disclosed.

All eight new signees will join the Patriots' 12 draft picks at rookie minicamp at Gillette Stadium beginning on Thursday night.

Anderson finished his career at Central Michigan with 290 receptions, 3,648 yards and 28 touchdowns.

Brown earned a starting position at safety in 2008 for the Fighting Irish after spending two seasons primarily on special teams.

Fletcher was the Big Sky conference's defensive MVP in 2009.

Johnson finished his career at California University of Pennsylvania with 178 total tackles and 16 interceptions.

Love played in 44 games for Mississippi State, registering 34 tackles as a senior.

Paschall ran for 1,397 yards and 16 touchdowns in his final season at North Dakota State.

Ventrone played in  each of Villanova's 13 games in 2009 and had 73 total tackles, three sacks and one touchdown on a 59-yard fumble return. He is also the younger brother of former Patriot Ray Ventrone.

Wise was a wrestler at Illinois and finished seventh at the national tournament.
