Darrelle Revis Makes Appearance at Jets’ OTAs

Tom Brady’s pending contract negotiations are a hot topic of conversation in New England, but one of the Patriots’ AFC East rivals may be clearing up a contractual dilemma of their own.

According to the New York Daily News, cornerback Darrelle Revis showed up at organized team activities  on Tuesday after originally planning to skip them due to a contract dispute.

While Revis is slated to make $1 million this year in the fourth year of his deal, Revis is looking for money more comparable to Raiders All-Pro Nnamdi Asomugha, who will make $16.5 million this year, making him the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL, a title Revis surely covets.

Revis may have a case for becoming the higest-paid cornerback in the league. Last year, Revis registered six interceptions, a stat even more impressive because of teams’ reluctance to throw the ball his way. One of those six picks came in a Week 2 win over the Patriots in which Brady was limited to 216 yards on only 23-of-47 passing.

Randy Moss also had a forgettable trip to "Revis Island" in Week 2 as the fourth-year corner out of Pittsburgh held Moss to only 24 yards on four catches.

The Jets realize the importance of Revis, their most important defensive player, and general manager Mike Tannenbauam has admitted that they would like to get a deal done with Revis "within reason." At this point, it looks like the Jets have the money to make that happen.
