After picking up a pinch-hit single in his first at-bat since returning from the disabled list Friday night, Red Sox outfielder Jeremy Hermida makes his return to the starting lineup Saturday night for the third game of the series against the Mariners.
The 25-year-old will bat seventh and play left field for Boston as the Mariners send right-hander David Pauley to the mound.
Nobody in the Red Sox' starting lineup has an at-bat against the one-time Red Sox commodity. Pauley has lost both of his starts this year, but has pitched well as a starter, posting a 3.27 ERA in his 11 innings since joining the starting rotation.
Red Sox starting third baseman Adrian Beltre will look to extend a six-game hitting streak. During the streak, Beltre is hitting .423 (11-for-26) with a pair of home runs and six RBIs.
