Will the Bruins Wins the Stanley Cup in 2011?

Don’t anoint the Capitals or Penguins as next year’s Eastern Conference champions just yet.

According to The Sports Dossier blog,  the Bruins have a great shot to get back to the Stanley Cup finals.

Svyato Rovenchuk writes that a blend of great goaltending, an explosive offense and potential for another trade or two can propel the Bruins through the playoffs.

Young and talented Tuukka Rask should only improve between the pipes, and Tim Thomas provides a seasoned backup and great trade bait.

Though thin on defense behind Zdeno Chara and Dennis Seidenberg, Rovenchuk writes  "there is still plenty of time for Boston to fill the void of another top three defenseman on [its] team. Plenty of trading options, too. Thomas or [Marc] Savard would be more than fair [in a] trade for a top three defenseman."

Savard becomes expendable, Rovenchuk believes, because of No. 2 overall pick Tyler Seguin. The addition of Nathan Horton to mainstays Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci doesn’t hurt, either.

Though it may be early to start predicting Stanley Cup champions, one writer is making the claim that the Bruins should not be overlooked.
