Former NFL quarterback and 1983 league MVP Joe Theismann could be joining the United Football League.

According to a Twitter post by Florida Tuskers wide receiver Maurice Price, Theismann has purchased the Tuskers for $20 million. Though tweets are not considered solid news sources, the UFL Access website has reason to believe Price’s post is right on the money — literally.

Theismann has a home on the Florida panhandle, and has visited the Tuskers’ training camp on multiple occasions. He also has publicly announced interest in the league in past interviews.

Updates throughout the day on the UFL Access site have led to further confirmations that this news is true. Price went on to tweet that he was quoting UFL commissioner Michael Huyghue in his initial posting that Theismann had indeed purchased the Tuskers.

Photos surfaced of Theismann at the Tuskers’ training camp earlier Monday, leading most to believe that Price is indeed correct in his post.

Theismann spent 12 years playing in the NFL with the Washington Redskins.
