Floyd Mayweather Jr. can't seem to keep himself out of trouble or out of the spotlight.
Just as the dust began to settle surrounding his latest scandal — where he broadcast a homophobic and racist rant against fellow boxer Manny Pacquiao — another incident occurs, stirring up the dirt all over again.
Mayweather is currently a suspect in a domestic violence case in Las Vegas, according to the Los Angeles Times. Members of the Las Vegas Police Department are seeking Mayweather for questioning surrounding a domestic battery complaint reported by his ex-girlfriend, Josie Harris.
Harris called the police early Thursday morning and said Mayweather, the father of her three children, hit her during an argument. She was treated at the hospital for minor injuries and released.
The police said Mayweather wasn't in the home when they responded to the complaint, and they have been unable to locate the boxer since the incident occurred. LVPD's Officer Barbara Morgan said they want to speak with Mayweather to hear his side of the story before determining whether he will face criminal charges.
This is not the first accusation of assault and battery against Mayweather. He has been arrested for similar charges on previous allegations filed by Harris. Back in 2005, Mayweather was arrested after an argument between the couple escalated to him hitting and kicking her outside a Las Vegas nightclub.
Mayweather was acquitted of those charges, however, because Harris testified that she had lied about the incident because she thought he was seeing another woman.
As of Thursday evening, no warrant had been issued for Mayweather's arrest, and no charges have been filed.
