New York Rangers training camp has claimed its first victim and it's center Chris Drury.
The veteran is expected to miss up to four weeks after breaking his finger while blocking a shot during Monday's practice, the New York Daily News reports.
The captain is expected to only miss three or four games to start the regular season.
Durability is one of Drury's strengths, as he's played in at least 71 games in each of his 11 NHL seasons. Last season was the worst of those 11 campaigns, though. Drury registered only 14 goals and 18 assists, both career-lows.
The Blueshirts are hopeful he'll bounce back from those totals this seasons, and early reports out of camp indicated that Drury is poised for a bounce-back season.
"It's a tough break for him because he was skating well and in great shape," teammate and linemate Vinny Prospal told the Daily News.
