Tony Dungy Reiterates His Displeasure With Rex Ryan’s Foul Language

Tony Dungy is on a moral crusade against swear words.

The former Colts head coach said earlier this summer that he found Jets coach Rex Ryan's foul language to be downright offensive. Dungy went as far to say that he would not hire an assistant who regularly used that kind of language (because, as you know, nobody on the Buccaneers or Colts ever swore under Dungy's command.)

Though Dungy and Ryan have since spoken, Dungy was not backing off his comments when appearing on The Dan Patrick Show on Thursday.

"It wasn't personal, and it wasn't that I was offended by that language," Dungy said. "My problem was putting it on a TV show when you know it's going to be in front of all your fans."

Dungy also reiterated his stance that he would not stand for such naughty words under his control.

"If you want to work on my staff … there's a time and place for that language," he said. "There's times we're on the practice field … we have open practices … I don't want to hear that language."

We won't know how effective Ryan's tactics are until his career is over, but at least we all now know who is the highest and mightiest coach of all time.
