Jets Doctors Give Darrelle Revis Clearance to Play Monday Against Vikings

Darrelle Revis may once again have the opportunity match up against the "slouch," Randy Moss.

For Revis' sake, one would hope this matchup goes better than the Jets-Patriots game in Week 2.

It was during that Sunday Night matchup that Revis strained his hamstring, attempting to cover Moss on a long run into the end zone. His efforts were defeated by Moss' run, as the former Patriots receiver made a dazzling one-handed catch for the touchdown.

Watching the replay, you could almost pinpoint the moment Revis overextended his hamstring muscle, and was forced to retire to the locker room. He hasn't returned to the gridiron since.

However, Jets head coach Rex Ryan told reporters today that his cornerback has been cleared by the team doctors, saying he is "good to go" against the Vikings. The final decision on whether he plays or not, falls on Revis himself.

Revis has increased his workload in practice, but is still listed as limited, according to ESPN.com. While he didn't speak to reporters on Thursday, Revis did say on Wednesday that he wouldn't play unless his hamstring was 100 percent, to ensure he wouldn't re-injure the muscle. According to onlookers, Revis was moving well in practice without any lingering effects of the injury.

If Revis opts to sit another week out, Drew Coleman would receive his second straight start at cornerback for the Jets.
