You have to give Liverpool credit. With all that's going on around them, they've kept their focus on seemingly one thing: winning matches and continuing to improve.
The latest example of that comes from Martin Skrtel who told the Liverpool Echo recently that despite the whirlwind of events surrounding the team, most notably the recent purchase of the Reds by New England Sports Venture, winning on the pitch is what matters before everything else.
Skrtel and the rest of Liverpool know that the stormiest waters have passed and now the focus will be on the team on the field — one that has not performed up to the club's fans' lofty standards.
"I think our performances will get better and better now," he said on the heels of Sunday's 2-1 win over Blackburn at Anfield. "In the past few months there has been some trouble around the club [with the owners] and now we know the situation is done.
"That means it is all about the players now. We have got to carry on and work hard on the pitch for the club. We have got to show our quality and our heart and keep going so we can improve."
