Amid Jenn Sterger Controversy, Brett Favre Begins Offseason Drama Show a Few Months Early On Thursday afternoon, news broke that Jenn Sterger met with NFL officials for three hours, handing over evidence in the Brett Favre investigation.

But Brett doesn't want you to focus on that stuff. He'd rather you start wondering about his future.

Well, OK, not really. He was asked in an NFL Network interview if he'll be playing next year, and his answer was simple enough: "No."

Of course, he's said that a couple of times before, and it doesn't necessarily mean anything at all. With the Vikings at 3-5, though, it's hard to imagine the folks in Minnesota will be clamoring for another year of gunslinging.

Quote of the day

"It would be nice to get [contract negotiations[ over with, just so you don't have to answer any more questions about it, because it's not just reporters who ask questions. You walk down the street and people want to know, would you play for this team, would you play for that team? So yeah, it'd be nice to get away from that."
–Derek Jeter, to ESPN.com, regarding the contract talks with the Yankees that he could probably end in five seconds if he so wanted

Comment of the day

This guy has the right idea, because Rene Rancourt always gets the job done.

"Should have put Rene Rancourt on the ice tonite he might have scored! What a joke!"
