Less than a week after rejoining the Bruins, Brian McGrattan has been placed on waivers for the purpose of assigning him to Providence.

The team made the announcement Monday morning.

McGrattan has yet to play an NHL game this season, and he was sent to Providence last weekend for conditioning. He played in three games without registering a point and posting a minus-4 rating.

In his NHL career, he has three goals and 11 assists in 182 games. He's been a healthy scratch nine times for Boston this season.
