Bruins defenseman Matt Bartkowski made his NHL debut on Monday in his hometown of Pittsburgh against the Penguins. On Tuesday, Bartkowski was sent back to the AHL.

The Bruins announced they've sent the 22-year-old back to Providence after he was called up on Jan. 9 in time for Monday's game against the Penguins. Bartkowski made his NHL debut when Adam McQuaid, who returned to the Bruins lineup on Tuesday against the Senators, was unable to go in Pittsburgh.

Bartkowski will go back to Providence where he's played 34 games for the P-Bruins this season, scoring four goals and adding eight assists.
