Despite refuting earlier claims that they were interested in selling Manchester United, it looks as though the Glazer family will take the highest bidder.

Reports emerged on Friday that Qatar Holdings, the investment branch of Qatar's Royal Family, sought to purchase Manchester United for £1.6 billion, but the club stated that no bids would be welcome.

According to the Daily Mail, the Glazers have now told Qatar Holdings that the minimum bid they would consider for the club would have to be at least £1.8 billion. This figure has reportedly made the investment branch more hesitant to buy, but another bid should be expected.

Qatar will host the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and owning one of the world's biggest clubs could help them to capitalize on the growing popularity of the sport.
