Lots of people dislike Rupert Murdoch right now for his media empire's connection to a British phone-tapping scandal. Liverpool fans are wondering what took everybody so long.

Murdoch's name has been mud among Reds supporters since 1989, writes Boston Magazine's Jason Schwartz, when one of Murdoch's News Corp. tabloids accused them of being responsible for the Hillsborough disaster.

The Sun accused Liverpool fans of being prime culprits in the incident at Hillsborough Stadium in which 96 fans were crushed to death.

The Sun's account inspired a song titled "Never Buy the Sun"," and most residents reportedly follow those instructions.
