Report: Minnesota Timberwolves to Fire Head Coach Kurt Rambis It seems as if everyone in Minnesota was waiting for it to happen, and it finally has. According to Yahoo Sports and CBS Sports, the Timberwolves will announce Tuesday afternoon that they are letting go of head coach Kurt Rambis.

For the past few months T-Wolves general manager David Kahn has made it clear that Rambis’ time in Minnesota was up. Kahn even went so far as to demand Rambis give him a written report detailing his performance as head coach.

In two seasons with the T-Wolves, the former Los Angeles Laker accumulated a 32-132 record.

League sources told Yahoo Sports that the top two candidates to replace Rambis are Portland assistant Bernie Bickerstaff and Milwaukee assistant Kelvin Sampson, who has previously held head coaching positions on the college level at the University of Oklahoma (1994-2006) and Indiana University (2006-08).
