Liverpool Live Blog: Luis Suarez Tally, Arsenal Own-Goal Give Liverpool First Win at Emirates Stadium

9:43 a.m.: Finally, Liverpool has shed its bad luck against Arsenal. The Reds used an own-goal by Aaron Ramsey and a goal by Luis Suarez to defeat Arsenal, 2-0, on Saturday for their first away match win over the Gunners since 2000. It's also Liverpools first victory at Emirates Stadium, which opened in 2006.

Coming on the heels of last week's 1-1 draw with Sunderland, the win gives Liverpool three key points and leaves Arsenal with one point and no goals in its first two league games.

9:40 a.m.: There's the capper. Meireles takes a crisp pass from Lucas, then taps to Suarez for the open goal. Liverpool leads, 2-0, and will win at Emirates for the first time.

9:34 a.m.: Lansbury draws a questionable yellow card for what looks like a solid tackle. Overall, though, Arsenal is looking tired. Playing a man down appears to have caught up with them.

9:24 a.m.: Not sure Suarez even touched that ball. It should go down as an own-goal by Miquel deflected off Ramsey's chest and over Szczesny's head.

Arsenal fans are crying for an offsides call on Suarez, and according to replays they may be right. No whistle, though, and it's an ugly goal that counts nonetheless. Liverpool leads, 1-0, in the 80th minute.

9:23 a.m.: Funny goal for Liverpool. Will find out what exactly happened once we see the replay.

9:16 a.m.: Liverpool is disgusted van Persie didn't draw a foul for a push on the Reds' box. The non-call led to a good back-foot shot that Reina had to kick away.

There was no missing the violation near midfield by Frimpong on Lucas, however. He drew a second yellow card and will leave Arsenal a man down in the 70th minute.

9 a.m.: Kelly might have had his first goal for Liverpool if he could have put it a bit more on net. Carroll did a nice job to run down a ball played to the right of the Arsenal goal and played it back to Kelly, who pushed it into the side of the net, just past the right post and the outstretched arm of Szczesny.

Arsenal may be weakened, but the Gunners are showing it's still tough for Liverpool to beat them at Emirates. Liverpool hasn't won at Arsenal since 2000.

8:51 a.m.: Second half is under way at Emirates. Maybe switching goals will prompt Liverpool to play more downhill, or maybe manager Kenny Daglish reminded his players that this is an Arsenal team they should be able to bait into a few mistakes.

We'll see.

8:35 a.m.: At halftime, Liverpool and Arsenal are scoreless. Aside from one Carroll header on goal and an Arsenal direct kick off a yellow card on Henderson, there has not been an unusually high number of chances for either team.

Liverpool has to be disappointed with its play up front. Carroll's presence should mean better looks off set pieces, but bad luck and bad balls have limited the shots on goal.

8:22 a.m.: Arsenal fans may not be happy Nasri is plotting his way off the team, but they have to like his effort against Liverpool. Nasri just led a run on goal and pushed a shot left. His experience will be vital if the young Gunners are to score.

8:16 a.m.: Off a free kick, Arsenal's Frimpong gets a decent look and puts a low shot just wide to the left of the Liverpool goal.

Liverpool has yet to capitalize on its size advantage. Henderson had the Reds' second opportunity at a header of a free kick, put dropped the ball right in the goalie's arms.

8:06 a.m.: Great chance for Caroll on a header Szczesny made a brilliant full-extension save to knock the shot away with both hands. Liverpool should have looks like this all match due to their height advantage up front.

8 a.m.: A little more unselfishness might benefit Liverpool. Downing had an opportunity in the box to give it to at least two teammates, but he played it into two defenders and lost possession.

Of more concern for Arsenal is a non-contact injury to Koscielny, who was playing the ball when he fell down uneasily and grabbed his lower back. Arsenal, already short of able bodies, can't afford another loss of personnel.

7:47 a.m.: A lot of attention is being paid to Nasri in the early going. As commentator Ian Darke notes, if Nasri gets injured against Liverpool, a lucrative move to Man City might be off.

Reds fans are eager for another look at their new squad, which spent aggressively in the offseason. They're still waiting for forwards Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll to get on the same page.

7:30 a.m.: Arsenal faces a challenge as they take the field decimated by injuries, transfers and a championship drought.

The Gunners got some good news, however, when Samir Nasri was announced as a surprise starter for the team. Nasri is close to a deal with Manchester City and was not expected to participate against Liverpool.
