Floyd Mayweather Jr. is one tough customer in the boxing ring. But as intimidating as he may be, Mayweather also has a soft side.
The 34-year-old boxing star, who squares off with Victor Ortiz on pay-per-view Saturday, said prior to Friday's weigh-in that the 2004 romantic film The Notebook is his favorite movie, according to Yahoo Sports.
"I really like The Notebook," he said. “I mean, who don't want to die next to your better half, holding hands. Die in your sleep next to the woman that you love, holding hands. That way, neither of you will ever be lonely. This is an amazing story. When you get old, what could be more beautiful than that? I feel like if I leave this earth and leave my better half, she is going to be lonely."
This is a bit surprising to hear considering Mayweather's controversial reputation. He burned a $100 bill in an Atlanta nightclub this summer and is the defendant in six lawsuits, while also facing several felony charges in a domestic violence case.
But I guess everyone loves a good romantic epic every now and then. Of course Mayweather proceeded to later spark an altercation at the weigh-in, so overall it's a push.
