Red Sox Owner John Henry Says ‘Calls and Maybe Interviews’ Begin Next Week in Managerial Search

Rumors will continue to swirl as the Red Sox seek a new manager. Team owner John Henry took to Twitter on Tuesday to interact with some fans and update them on the progress of the search.

Henry said Tuesday was another productive day at Fenway, where he, Tom Werner and Larry Lucchino were briefed on the managerial search by general manager Theo Epstein and vice president of player personnel Ben Cherington.

Henry, who said the team was doing its due diligence this week, went on to tweet: "Calls and maybe interviews next week. Excited to once again bring in smart, creative, hands-on leadership. We have the right people looking."

He also noted that the Red Sox got their managerial search right eight years ago when Terry Francona and Rays manager Joe Maddon were finalists.

"We'll secure a great manager this time as well," Henry tweeted.
