Oakland Raiders File Lawsuit Against Nation’s Giant Hamburgers Chain Because of ‘Ambush Advertising’ (Photo)

Don't plan on ordering a McFadden anytime soon. At least not while the Oakland Raiders are so quick to go after burger joints.

The Raiders have filed a lawsuit in federal court against the Nation's Giant Hamburgers chain for violating the team's "Raider Nation" trademark in an ad slogan, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

The slogan used by Nation's Giant Hamburgers, which appeared on a billboard near the Oakland Coliseum, read, "When Hunger Hits, Raid a Nation's." The Raiders didn't take too kindly to the play on words, though, reportedly calling it "ambush advertising" in their lawsuit.

The organization reportedly feels that the ad implies the two sides have a business relationship, which isn't the case. Workers have since taken down the ad from the billboard, which also depicts a hamburger wearing an eye patch and the Raiders' black and silver color scheme.

The plaintiffs are reportedly asking for damages for trademark infringement and want Nation's to be enjoined from using the "Raid a Nation's" slogan.
