Jose Canseco wants to party, and he wants to party at Fenway Park.

The Red Sox will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the storied ballpark on April 20, and the former Red Sox slugger wants get in on the fun. One of baseball's most controversial figures of the last 25 years is asking to come home.

"Invite for the 100th anniversary?" he tweeted at the club. "Would love to go."

He then added, "Or maybe your 150th annivesary [sic]."

Canseco went out of his way to prove how much he enjoyed his brief stay in Boston in the mid 90s, even going as far as changing his Twitter picture to a photo of him signing autographs before a game at Fenway Park during his playing days.

"Great to be back in the bay area," he added. "Lots of good memories here. wish i couldve been at the red sox 100 aniversary [sic]."

However, Detective Canseco has a reason as to why might not have gotten an invite, and it's a solid thought at the very least.

"But maybe the invite went to my california home and i moved. havent updated address yet with postal office."

Of course.

Anyway, Canseco finished his plea with one more look back on his time with the Sox, with a nod to former running mate Mo Vaughn.

"Great playing in Boston in 95 & 96," he said. "Smart fans, first class org, hit dog the MVP behind me .95 was a great team but Cleveland incredible."

It's not the first time Canseco has gone to the Sox looking to hang out. He actually asked for a job recently. The slugger pleaded with the Sox — citing inaccurate, juiced numbers — to give him a job as a player.
