Even stars get starstruck from time to time. When Paul McCartney shouted out Luis Suarez by name, the Liverpool FC star couldn’t hide his pride and delight.
The rock icon was performing in Suarez’s native Uruguay. It just so happened that the concert took place at the Estadiu Centenario in Montevideo, Uruguay; the same stadium at which Suarez leads the front line for the Uruguayan national team.
McCartney played a little game of call-and-response with the crowd, shouting out the name of his hometown (and favorite football club) “Liverpool.” The crowd didn’t roar then, but when he yelled out “Suarez” the Uruguayan fans went wild.
Suarez himself took to twitter when he heard what happened.
Very proud that a master like @PaulMcCartney has played live in my country, even more when he mentioned me during the show!
