Palmeiras Players Crash Luiz Felipe Scolari's News Conference, Horrify Coach With Gatorade Shower (Video)Luiz Felipe Scolari is one of those managers that likes to serve as a father figure to his players.

That may be why his first instinct was to backhand a few of them after they crashed his news conference and doused him with water and Gatorade.

Scolari, manager of Brazilian club Palmeiras, was talking to reporters about his team’s triumph in the 2012 Copa do Brazil (Brazilian Cup). He was calmly discussing tactics, team spirit or something (our Portuguese skills are rusty and nonexistent) when a look of terror came over his face.

A few of his boys found their way to the news conference, rushed his table and let the liquids fly. They were chanting about their newly won trophy and generally having a good time, while the 63-year-old Scolari tried (in vain) to cover his body with a hand towel.

The trophy was Scolari’s first since 2002 when he lead Brazil to glory at the FIFA World Cup. He left that post to lead Portugal’s national team from 2003-2008. A failed stint as Chelsea FC manager followed as the Blues’ players just didn’t take to his fatherly approach.

But the venerable Brazilian boss has landed on his feet at one of Sao Paulo’s biggest clubs. Let’s just hope he doesn’t slip and fall with all that liquid on the ground.
