It's been more than half of a decade since the Red Sox traded Hanley Ramirez to the Marlins. And seemingly every year since then, the infielder's name comes up in connection to the Sox when trade talks start to heat up.
USA Today's Bob Nightengale is reporting that the club still has interest in Ramirez with the trade deadline just a week away. According to Nightengale, the Sox are among teams interested in the Miami infielder, along with Oakland and Toronto.

FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal speculates that Ramirez could be the next Marlin to move in their most recent fire sale.
"Third baseman Hanley Ramirez could be the next to go," writes Rosenthal. "The Marlins tried to send him to the Boston Red Sox last week, and he could interest the Los Angeles Dodgers, Oakland Athletics and other clubs, makeup questions and all."
The Fish shipped Omar Infante and Anibal Sanchez to Detroit on Monday, and right-hander Josh Johnson continues to generate interest.
The Red Sox were rumored to be in on Ramirez last week in a potential deal that might have involved Marlins reliever Heath Bell and Boston outfielder Carl Crawford. That proposed deal, which was reported by Nightengale as well, was shot down by both Red Sox general manager Ben Cherington and other reports.
Ramirez, like the rest of the Marlins, is struggling some this season. His .246 average is almost 50 points below his career average of .300, but he does have 14 home runs and 47 RBIs this season.
