Will Middlebrooks' rehab is progressing rather smoothly.
Just days after taking his first swings off a tee since
suffering a broken wrist on Aug. 6, the Red Sox third baseman participated in
batting practice. Despite being shelved for the season, it marked a significant
step for the 24-year-old.
Through 75 games this season, Middlebrooks has whacked 15
home runs and 54 RBIs while batting .288. He elected against playing winter
ball this offseason, opting instead to rest his ailing wrist.
