Michael Jordan’s Wedding Invitation Requests Vow of Silence, Bans Cell Phones

If a celebrity gets married and there is no one there to tweet about it, has it really happened?

We will all find out soon enough when Michael Jordan ties the knot with fiancee Yvette Prieto on April 17 in Palm Beach, Fla. According to the Chicago Sun Times, Jordan’s wedding invitations included standard information about time, place, attire, etc.

They also included a card requesting that invitees not share any details about the event — with a specific request not to talk to the media. Guests were also told to leave cameras and phones at home, lest they have the urge to snap a photo or send a tweet.

It should come as no surprise that His Airness required his soon-to-be-wife to sign a prenuptial agreement, protecting his estimated $650 million fortune. The legal language states that, the case of a divorce, Prieto will receive $1 million for every year she and Jordan were married. If they make it to the decade mark together, the payout will jump to $5 million for every year they stayed together.

Jordan saw the error of his ways after his 2006 divorce from ex-wife Juanita Vanoy Jordan. The former Bulls star handed his ex-wife a reported $168 million settlement in that divorce.
