Sidney CrosbyIf there’s going to be a war of words in the lengthy wait for the Eastern Conference finals to start, the Bruins and Penguins are kind of going about it all wrong.

Bruins forward Milan Lucic likened the Penguins to “the Miami Heat of the NHL” over the weekend, and at least one Penguins star sees that as a compliment. Pens forward Sidney Crosby was informed of Lucic’s comparison, and arguably the best player in the world was appreciative of what he saw as kind words from Lucic.

“We appreciate the compliment,” Crosby said, according to NHL.com. “I’m sure he won’t have too many once we start playing. I think it’s a compliment.”

However, Crosby wasn’t exactly sure how the comparison was meant.

“I don’t know how much is meant by it, but at this point I don’t think it really matters what we’re classified as or what we’re like on paper,” Crosby added. “There’s always going to be comments and things like that said, but at the end of the day, we’ve got to go out there and play.”

The Eastern Conference finals are expected to start this weekend.
