Mariano Rivera‘s latest stop on his farewell tour is Tropicana Field, where the Yankees take on the Rays in a three-game series, and the Rays made sure Rivera didn’t leave without being honored.
Adding to a collection that includes a beach cruiser bicycle, a chair made of broken bats, a custom surfboard and a plane dedicated in his honor, Mariano was honored at the Trop with a sand sculpture carved in his likeness. The Rays obviously took inspiration from Rivera’s well-known entrance song, “Enter Sandman” by Metallica.
The sculpture features a bust of Rivera set amid the New York City skyline with a banner that says “Enter Sandman 42” on it.
