Just over six months ago, tragedy rocked Boston on Marathon Monday. In the wake of the bombings, the city created The One Fund Boston — a charity to help the hundreds of victims, their families, and the city itself recover. Millions of dollars have already been raised, and Nike has decided to help the cause.
Nike Running, a subsection of the company, announced via Instagram that they would donate $1,000 for every run scored in the World Series. The donations will start during Game 2 Thursday night.
In addition, to encourage followers to get out and run themselves, for every mile anyone runs using Nike+ and shares publicly using the hashtag #Bstrong, Nike will donate an additional $10 to The One Fund, up to $10,000.
