One Winter Olympian proved Monday that she’s anything but shy when cameras found her in the middle of her unorthodox pregame ritual.
Team USA luger Kate Hansen prepares for her runs by putting on some headphones and breaking it down like nobody’s business.
The 21-year-old Burbank, Calif., native has some serious moves and isn’t afraid to show them.
“Honestly, I’m in my own world,” Hansen said during a post-race interview. “It doesn’t matter who’s staring, I’m still going to dance.”
The U.S. has never won the gold in luge, and this year’s team hopes Hansen can help change that as she’s in the top 10 of women’s singles.
What is Hansen listening to while she gets in the groove?
“Strictly Beyoncé,” Hansen said. “My girl B — she just gets my fierce and I get stoked.”
The lesson here? When in doubt, or when preparing to hurtle down a track at 70 mph, put on some Beyoncé and dance to your heart’s content.
