Hockey is a very close-knit community, so it came as no surprise when Rich Peverley’s collapse during Monday night’s Dallas Stars-Columbus Blue Jackets game was followed quickly by an outpouring of support from around the NHL.
Some of it came from players who had been teammates of the Stars forward (Brad Marchand, Marc Savard, Evander Kane), and some from others just looking to send their well-wishes to a fellow hockey player.
